This photo tears me apart in two directions. I kinda like this because of the subject and the coloring, but on the other hand, I think a closer focus would have done miracles. It has great potential but now it's going to waste. I'm no professional, and we're all learning all the time, so please don't take me too seriously.
In my opinion, the subject is too obvious. The viewer gets bored after watching this 2-5 seconds which is quite the opposite to what this photo should do. What I think you could do to better this one here is to create layers of binary subjects (something in front of or behind the real subject; e.g. a different color on the back ground/blurred part of the pic or simply a thing) or, as I said earlier, go closer. Show us something about it that caught your attention in particular not the whole branch. I know what they say in art classes; there's a good negative space. Think about it. Do you want us to see the Space around the subject or the subject itself?
